Watched Quentin and that other bloke who tries to be Tiff on a programme last night showing young lads erm.... playing like the car programme people do but on the public road. Then they slagged them off, got a fat cop and some sandalists to slag them off. Then they got the stupid ones who got caught to get in the car with the racing driver and he told them they were crap after 100 yards.

What a load of one sided hypocritical shite. How can these people appear on TV every week going sideways in every kind of supercar, then slag people off for imitating them?

Sounds excellent! What programme? A weekly treat or a one off?

Edited for accuracy.

Quite easy. There's a time and a place for it. The public road, it isn't.

It would be nice to see these people be more accountable for some of the antics that they portray as being acceptable behaviour when driving a quick car.

Dont get me wrong I love speed and power but together in inexperienced hands there can only be one outcome.

Wilson himself is, IMO, a self opinionated T++++r who has elevated himself as some kind of expert, and in reality knows very litle about anything except maybe selling cars to some mug punter!!

Sorry rant over

Hmmm, really? I've met him a couple of times, and i've been reading his stuff for over twenty years. His knowledge of the motor industry, particularly on a global scale is huge, as his knowledge of classic cars, automotive heritage & history. On one of the occasions I met him, I was working for Daewoo, and as it happens he'd just come back from Korea and had interviewed Chairman Kim. His knowledge of what was then a little known company in the UK was outstanding. I also spent a few hours with him at a BDC meeting, and we talked about Bentleys over afternoon tea, then he did a piss take Top Gear piece to camera about my old MKVI for me. He has also done some terrific one marque classic car series for TV and his books are a decent read too. I also like his column in Classic & Sportscar each month. Now don't get me wrong, i'm not a huge fan of his, despite what i've just written may suggest. But I wouldn't right him off. Still, if you want to think of him as some sort of failed Mike Brewer, carry on.

Indeed there is a time and a place for it and clearly that is not the message they are spreading is it? They are sending out the message "Its OK for me to do it but not you." This is frankly ludicrous. The boys they tamed for the media circus were not the worlds brightest. Unlike you they will not make that differentiation. So when they kill people on urban roads its our fault for paying these plonkers to make the film. Wake up and smell the coffee.

I don't recall Mike brewer doing a bulk deal on a load of ex plod motorway metal then extolling the virtues of said metal,in particular of the ex plod variety on a highly influential TV program and making a mint, in the name of un biased tv journalism.......the 24v Senator was a good car though!!

I met the bloke several years whilst at one of the motorshows, he was a c**k then and he never really changed. I'd echo the sentiment that he's poacher turned game keeper and wouldn't trust him as far as i can throw him.

Also, he's a condescending tw@t.
