The Rover 2.5 V6 is called a KV6 (not closely) related to the K series 4 cylinder. It actually started life as a 2.7 Honda unit but was heavily revised by Rover and has been built at Longbridge (and also by Kia) for many years.

Wrong again, the KV6 has absolutely nothing to do with the Honda V6. It started life as two banks of K-series engines with one cylinder chopped off, but was heavily revised under BMW after problems with the first application (the 800 2.5 from 1996), the KV6 now fitted to Rover 75s is not the same engine as the one in the 800.
