Perhaps it would help if an Italian was put in charge of fixing the pot holes on British roads - Mussolini?

How about if the public takes matters into their own hands? Have everyone pick up a small bag of ready-mix tarmac at the local DIY and fill the potholes in front of their own houses.

We'll call it "Vigilante Roadworks"!

You would think that with all the money raised from Vehicle Excise Duty, the Government could afford to to pay decent money to Councils to keep the roads in proper repair. The nightmare still to come is when they start charging to use these potholed roads.

On the M1 last week with all that rain, we had tarmac lifting and potholes appearing after a couple of minutes.
We had to implement rolling road blocks to allow the area contractors a couple of minutes without traffic to fill them with a quick set mix otherwise it could have been fatal, especially if your on a bike.

I'm pretty sure that's what the council do anyway

Good to know that roadworks that take 3 years to complete last all of 10 minutes in a heavy downpour.

Hit a pothole that was 6" deep cracked 1 wheel & bent other split 1 tyer. Had to get new wheel & tyer as only had space saver. Its a good job i went back same day in daylight to take pictures as when i reported it to council they filled it in next day. Now waiting to here from council insurance.
