Apparently Brake is appalled, ggogle maps show the distance of 16 miles should take about 20-25 mins

There really is one rule for them and one rule for the rest of us, isn't there ?

ked up.If you find a loophole then well done.
When I was late home to see the wife and was NOT doing double the speed limit I still got £350 fine and in similar circumstanes a mate of mine did get a ban.
So has a legal preseidence been set that courts do not ban drivers who have family commitments?
If a guy was racing along ay double the limit on the way home to see his wife having just shagged his mistress would that be considered in the same light?
Marital status should not be a consideration in justice and neither should religion.
The guy is a dangerous speeder and a bigamist.

and how do any of you know the wife thing was the reason he didn't get a ban!
Plenty of people plead for leniency due to inability to do work if they get a ban and that is taken into account and often works.
typical Daily Mail scaremongering - TBH I didn't even need to look at the newspaper to sus it was them.
suckers (sorry daily mail readers) born every minute.

However, among the media fecal agitation, there has to be some element of truth. I was given to understand that Muslim polygamy is a bit of an urban myth - a confusion of Arabic laws with Shariah Law and thus a misbelief by Christians that ALL Muslims are permitted more than one wife.
To cut a ramble less long, the motorist caught doubling the posted limit should face the music regardless of nation or creed, the Judge alone allowing for supplication for leniency on whatever grounds. Ignorance among the Public and the Judiciary in a matter such as this shows the pathetic state of affairs that our Legal System has fallen to, thanks in total to the hundreds of useless laws and statutes introduced by the Blair/Brown Junta which, in turn, adds new voters to the BNP on a daily basis.
Emigration seems increasingly to be the only answer...

tend to browse lots of news sites, not really care who reported it originally, bit like saying that because it on some site it cant be treu, if it was the sunday sport, then that is fair comment, suspect it is in the local press but as not in scotland, did not bother checking
I'm not saying its 'untrue' just that a 'spin' will have been put on it.There are thousands of drivers who get let off a ban cos the loss of their licence would cause serious hardship - eg can't get to work, loose job etc. If you are facing a ban then you beef up the reasons why you shouldn't get one and sometimes it works.
This guy has obviously come up with the work reason and the 'wife' reason, but surprise surprise the headline isn't Man avoids ban cos he can't run his two businesses anymore'. Daily Mail are one of the worst offenders of this kind of thing especially if there is a racial element.
Knowing two magistrates, I very much doubt they took any notice at all of the wife angle, they didn't ban him cos of the work implications.
Just another example of this country's descent into complete and utter shambles.
So let me get this right, we do live in Great (sic) Britain, we do live under UK law, Sharia law doesn't exist in this country and bigamy IS illegal.
How much police / court time and costs were wasted at mine and the other taxpayers expense, if it wasn't so sad it would be funny.
No wonder so many people are (sadly) voting BNP, in response to the comment above from one of the members re PHers racism I think you will find the vast majority of people in this country have no problem with muslims or any other race / religion living here as long as we all live under the same rules and liberty which our forefathers fought and lost their lives for.
Of course our military is another part of our once great country to be disrespected and scorned upon isn't it.
Only one word can sum this up.
BULLSH*T!

"Polygamous marriages
A polygamous marriage is when a man or woman is entitled to marry more than one wife or husband. A polygamous marriage which takes place in the UK is not valid. Marriages in other countries where polygamy is allowed may be recognised as valid in Britain, provided that none of the spouses were domiciled in the UK at the time of the marriage.
The concept of ‘domicile’ is very complex and does not necessarily mean living in a country. For more information you should consult an experienced adviser for example, at a Citizens Advice Bureau.
