Free 'Ring Guide

Download a BMW guide to the Nurburgring for free

This isn't the guide
This isn't the guide
We’re not sure how long this has been kicking around, but if you haven’t seen it this downloadable guide to the Nurburgring could be pretty useful.

It has been produced by BMW and is one of the most complete guides to the ‘Ring we have seen.

There is a bend-by-bend analysis, professional tips and bags of other facts about the legendary circuit.

And the best bit? It’s free of course. There is easy to read instructions of what lines to take through the twisties, with diagrams to go with it.

It tells you the best locations for gear changes and braking zones, and best entry and exit speeds to attack each corner.

If you are going to the ‘Ring for the first time it is certainly worth a look.

Download the PDF guide by clicking here.

While it's over 4 years since I last downloaded it (and might have to download it again to compare it for changes), it's always good to republish the link regularly as people forget where it is.

I just scrolled through to see if it was the same one I looked at back in 2005. Is this a current news article?

What's the matter, ran out of GT-R articles?

Believe me, that game does not prepare you for the gradient changes, roll of the track... and in particular coming out of carousel at pace with a double decker bus in front of you!! Good guide, used it before and will top up again!

Didn't know it existed myself so I'm glad they ran it.

Oh, and it gave you a chance to show off about how much better you are at finding guides to the 'Ring!

Wind your neck in, I was just pointing out that this isn't news. Why not just put it in a sticky or a wiki?

Very tricky I hear, especially when trying to rock around on time.

Never seen the link before myself, but I just downloaded it a printed it off at work. I have also never been to the ring before but seeing as I'm considering taking the Passat there sometime soon, it looks like invaluable information.

Slightly off topic I know but could someone give me an idea of how long it takes to get there please?

I've seen it before too, think it's probably linked on one of the Ring sites. Certainly improved my GT4 laptimes hehe

I took the last model passat (2004) 130tdi highline (with 15" alloys and high profile tyres) to the ring. It was a right laugh, stable and torquey. The brakes were screwed after 4 laps though (pad deposition), and that was holding back. I overtook a lot of badly driven sports cars too! Maybe even more fun that driving something with real potential around for that reason alone.
