First Alfa 8C Arrives
Manchester-based architect picks up his 8C
The first of just 41 Alfa 8C Competiziones destined for the UK has arrived.
The £138,500 hand-built Italian sportscar was collected by award-winning Manchester-based architect, Ian Simpson, from Alfa’s largest and longest established dealership, Mangoletsi, in Knutsford, Cheshire.
The 8C has a 4.7litre V8, producing 450bhp.
It is channelled through a sophisticated 6-speed F1-style paddle shift gearbox to the rear wheels.
Ian Simpson, who registered his interest in the 8C when the vehicle was first unveiled as a concept at the Geneva Motor Show in 2003, said: ‘This car is truly worth the wait. It’s everything a supercar should be.
‘It’s unmistakably beautiful, it has a distinct engine note and the high performance credentials place it firmly alongside the most exotic cars on the planet. I am delighted and proud to be the first customer in the country to experience this incredible car.’

It a great looking car - price seems a bit steep to me but it does have serious performance credentials. It's up against some stiff Ferrari 430 shaped competition amongst others though...
All the best

BUT... what happened to the estimated 80-100k pricetag?
I mean thats still not cheap but it puts it in view of porsche and maserati not fezzas and lambos.
At these prices I would be seriously looking at the competition whereas where I expected it to be would have left it the outright favourite.
I guess the limited run number does tip the balance tho as I don' think you'll be a ble to get hold of these for love nor money so the exclusivity of it all is very attractive!
to be fair though, if you put that car in front of anybody, the first reaction would be "I want one", thats good enough for me!

Bet they could sell the same number at 150 000 £.
PS: I want one! (not in black tough)
