Schuey Designs A Helmet

F1 champ has a sideline in making bike hemets

Multiple Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher is continuing his latest obsession with all things two-wheeled by developing a new motorcycle helmet.

Engineers at firm Schuberth have developed a new crash helmet in close collaboration with Schumacher himself, obviously tapping into his immense knowledge of the world of bike helmets.

The result is an extremely lightweight and aerodynamic helmet, filled with numerous technical and safety innovations.

Since he left F1 Schumacher has been spending a lot of time with bikes, even entering pro-amateur races in Europe and picking up a debut win in just his second event.

Schumacher said: ‘Throughout my time in Formula 1 I really appreciated just how fast and accurately the people at Schuberth were able to work.

‘Attention to detail has always been particularly important to me, and I don’t intend to leave anything to chance in the future either.’

Henry Rivers Fletcher of Oxford Products (UK importers for Schuberth), added: ‘Michael is a great ambassador for Schuberth.

'We expect some great results from this relationship as the former champ channels some of his renowned perfectionism into the evolution of Schuberth products. Formula 1 and motorcycling technology have much in common – there is no margin for error in either.’

Schuberth make great lids (I have an S1) but I hope to God they've not got anti-fog on the visor. I starts to peel off within a month, yet stubbornly refuses to be completely removed (so to regain a clear, if foggy view) by any solvent known to mankind.

Is the company name purely a coincidence, or is this a Schumacher company?

Why does it say 'deutsche vermogensbera...' on anything to do with Schey? A personal German sponsor?

"obviously tapping into his immense knowledge of the world of bike helmets."

Ermmm -really?
I wonder how much he knows compared to say, Valentino Rossi, Colin Edwards, James Toseland, Noriyuki Haga, or serial crasher "Careless Chucka" & a few dozen more.
Got more to do with Schuberth's support of him in F1 and, I suspect, capitalising on that....
call me an old cynic if you wish

and I'm not too sure why this is so sarcastic, its not like the chap has never worn a skid lid before! however, i feel its more to do with endorsment then the engineering and design ability of a skid lid
