LP560-4 Prices Announced

New baby Lambo will cost almost £150,000 and deliveries start in the summer

Lamborghini has officially announced prices for the new Gallardo LP560-4.

The LP560-4 replaces the original Gallardo and will cost £147,330 OTR and this includes a NavTrak vehicle tracking system.

The original Gallardo was the most successful Lamborghini model of all time and approximately 7100 Gallardo models have left the Sant’Agata Bolognese production plant since the coupe’s original launch in 2003.

The new car has 40bhp more and accelerates from 0-62mph in 3.7 seconds, with a top speed of over 200mph.

Despite its increased power, fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions have been reduced by 18%, claims Lamborghini.

Stephan Winkelmann, president and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini SpA, said: ‘The new Gallardo Coupé 560/4 is a significantly enhanced version of what was already an extreme car.’

‘With an even more sharply defined character, the new Gallardo LP560-4 is also innately elegant and sensitive: the uncompromised expression of an uncompromised lifestyle.’

The Gallardo Coupé LP560-4 will be available to view from late June in the UK’s dealerships in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh, with customer deliveries commencing in the summer.

£147k Sounds a bit too much considering you can get a Murcielago for less than that. I think they've messed up the pricing on this one. Those looking to spend that sort of money will surely spend an extra 40-50k to get a Murcielago LP640.

I would disagree. I'm no where near being able to afford one of these but I would far rather own one of these as I can imaging driving it down a typical country road. The size of the Murcielago would make it very hard on anything other than a wide A road or motorway.

£147K!! That is a lot of money.
Existing owners are going to have to really want one of these in order to trade up.
You would be looking at best part of £70-80k to get your bum in the newer model!
I Think I would rather buy another, older G and use it as a track sg.

That's the only place where you are only likely see one on the road ?

Yes we now have a major class difference in who can afford to run cars like this in this country, very sad indeed.

I've never been anywhere where in the Monday morning rush hour the roads are swamped with Lambos, Ferraris, et al. with the odd Corsa and Focus poking around...

I'm afraid its a fact of life... These cars are supposed to be stupidly expensive. If I bought one, I'd want to be different from the vast majority of people. If its driving pleasure you want get a 911, GTR (oops mentioned the 2 together, I'll get crucified!!!), M3, etc. These cars offer driving thrills for just about anyone. The Lambos of this world are about image and status just as much as performance.

Many want one, but it is unobtainable for most. I think thats the whole point... Create desire!

I don't know...maybe because it has a V12, scissor doors (like a Lamborghini should), it looks better (in my opinion), it will be rarer (who's going to be able to tell the difference between a Gallardo and a Gallardo LP560 in the street?) and the Murcielago has some cool vents that pop out.

All my opinion of course, but i'd just opt to stump up for the LP640 and pay that bit extra if I was faced with the decision. Or buy the superleggera if it had to be a Gallardo.
