Jaguar XFR spotted
Discussion
I'm new here, and this is probably old news, but I just wanted to say that bizarrely Jaguar 'secretly' showed the new XFR off at Goodwood today, despite it being under wraps. But not. If you see what I mean. Even the commentators referred to it as 'the car we're not supposed to mention'!
Anyway, here's a snap for you:

Interesting comments about the lack of chrome.
A lot of initial feedback from engineers and management when the car was at prototype stage was that the chrome on the grille is a bit too much.
My view was also that it doesn't match the lower air intakes, which are more black than shiny. I wanted to see all the intakes broadly the same colour and styling.
I'm not sure whether the XFR will end up with a black chrome grille for produciton but am hoping it does. I think the grille needs toning down.
And it did look pretty good on the S-Type R.

They should have spent the money putting a brow over that stupid gaping headlight. I didn't like the car when it was launched and everyone said it would look better in the metal. Well, it doesn't. I am one of the few who thinks the old S-Type looked a million times better than this Jagdeo.

Are their any specs on the XFR????? Hopfully it'll be more than just add the 4.2 and blower. Maybe make it more of a proper M3 alternative???
http://www.autocar.co.uk/News/NewsArticle/Jaguar-XF/233863/XF is 5series class though, so not an M3 rival!

every jag needs round lights.
eh?So what about the XJS or XJ40?
the lack of chrome has now grown on me though, I much prefer the S type-R when it was de-chromed and I think this model will look good in person. I'd like to see it in black

rubbish
Obviously not everybody thinks this way, at the dealers the other week XF's are order now deliver October! Looks like they sell all they make. rubbish
I like the rear not sure about the front but much better in the metal & seems very colour sensitive. All irrelevant a the mo as I couldn't afford one so have got another S-Type to pick up on Thursday. Maybe an XF in 2 years time or so, or an XKR!
TBH, I like the XF. I don't much like the look of this XFR though - agree the lack of chrome does it no favours.
I wasn't completely sold on the looks of the XF for ages - I too think that the concept front end, especially the headlights looked really good and I feel that Jaguar diluted the concept far too much for production. Perhaps they're planning on using the concept front end for a facelift in a couple of years - that'd prolong the sales for a bit!
Once I sat in an XF and saw just how fantastic the interior is, I formed the opinion that it SHOULD become a great British car. Whether that happens or not remains to be seen, but the XF is a step up from anything I've been in for a long time.

Absolutely agree. Evem if you really aren't keen - go and sit in one. The interior design is the perfect interpretation of a modern jaguar.
And in the flesh it has no relation to a Mondeo regardless of what photos may suggest.
Although there's no excuse for the overly round headlights. That, unfortunately, isn't something that will change come the facelift, but then again if modern BMWs can grow on people and even become objects of desire on looks as well as brand, well these will look normal and acceptable in no time...
