Breaking News: Mosley Wins Sex Case

Motorsport boss reportedly awarded £60,000 in damages

World motorsport supremo Max Mosley has won a legal action against a Sunday newspaper over claims he took part in a Nazi-themed orgy, it has been reported. The High Court is understood to have ruled that the News of the World did breach Mosley's privacy and found no evidence of Nazi behaviour during an S&M sex session.

Mosley has been awarded £60,000 in damages and Mr Justice Eady said he could expect privacy for consensual 'sexual activities (albeit unconventional)'. Mosley always denied any Nazi theme but did admit to the sex session with five prostitutes.

Mr Mosely's father Sir Oswald Mosley was a British fascist leader in the 1930s. At the High Court Mr Justice Eady said: 'I see no genuine basis at all for the suggestion that the participants mocked the victims of the Holocaust.' The 'bondage, beating and domination'that did take place was 'typical of S and M behaviour', he said.

The Judge also reportedly found no public interest or other justification for the recording of the session and publication of video extracts. Outside the High Court, Mr Mosley said he was 'delighted with that judgement, which is devastating for the News of the World'. 'It demonstrates that their Nazi lie was completely invented and had no justification,' he added.

Its his position as a world wide figurehead that has to be taken into account. He may have been acting out his fantasies but in a capitalist society there will always be someone who thinks that money can be paid however private he(Max) thinks it is. As a consequence he must then think ahead as to other views - worldwide - if that information becomes public. I have no sympathy for him - he earns a very nice living and as a consequence should be wary of anything that could cost him thta income.

Doesn't alter my opinion of him. I still think his behaviour perverted and unacceptable for someone in his position. I doubt that I'm alone.

Does he really think he comes out of this in any sort of good light?

I didn't realise the family connections. Interesting.
Whilst I think privacy is important, I also think morality especially for those in the public eye is MORE important. Nazi or Not, using prostitutes suggests something fairly disgusting, to the moral majority. Or am I just old fashioned ?

60k, seems like the paper got off very cheaply. Not saying I like the bloke, but thought if he did win he would sue for millions.

Meh, who cares? No kittens or children were harmed. It was consenting (or paid) adults in private and clearly he was stitched up by someone selling the story to the rag newspapers.

None of this make's Mosley's difficult position going forward as head of the FIA any better. It's a victory, but a shallow legal one at best.

Mosley's remaining problem (regardless of the rights and wrongs of this case) is that many of the groups who make motor racing happen at all levels are still appalled at what he was filmed doing. He still faces a large swell of opposition from all of the largest National Motorsport Associations (except our own pathetic MSA), manufacturers, sponsors, teams, circuit owners, and Politicians.

Mosley may have won a case brought on the grounds of infringement of privacy, but he is still guilty of being filmed using paid prostitutes to spank him till his arse bled, and carrying out lice inspections up his arse, whilst crying out in Germans and wearing uniforms (albeit with unproven nazi connotations)

I personally don't want this odious, awful man running international motorsport, and I hope that all those others who feel like me keep up the pressure for him to resign until he actually goes.

Did anyone really think he was going to loose? Bearing in mind he is a barrister!!

I agree with previous posts re: suitability of such an individual holding a (any) prominent position.

Maybe it wasn't Nazi themed but isn't paying women for sex illegal? I was under that impression.

I respect his right to privacy but when he is representing peoples interests to the rest of the world then he can't be seen to be acting like this.

Me neither. Sir Oswald Mosley was one of the bigges scumbags to ever be in this country, and features highly in the blackest period of the beloved and still highly black, Daily mail.
