Detroit at First Hand
Never mind the spiel - two PistonHeads readers give us the low down on what the Detroit show was really like

I've been following the skyline news since the first reporting, and ever since I set my eyes on it, I have been outraged and sorely disappointed. I wrote to a dept of Nissan to compliment them on the Z and their other cars, and plead on swollen knees for them to change the "concept" but to no avail. Just a couple hours ago, I was horrified to see the 350z picture. The fairlady Z is one of my favorite cars and a true symbol of Japanese sports cars that more than held its own to American cars when it was released. Sorry, did I mention I live in Florida of the US of A and no I havent forgotten about my country. I just appreciate Japanese cars more. Anyways, I think the pictures are utterly horrid. The new skyline is a nice enough car, with another name on it. The skyline is a monster that eats your car for breakfast, not as a "concept" car, which is what I feel the new model should remain. These are the words from a half jap with polish and austrian in the blood. The only positive aspect I see is the GT-R engine still in tact and ready to kick some more poopers.
