So what’s the deal then as Ferrari STEAL another race????
It’s about time Ferrari CRASHED or got a taste of being treated like a tt.

Ferrari are SCUM, Lewis Hamilton and McLaren are FAR better than Ferrari, why should they be GOD of the track??? Nobody dares to give Ferrari penalties or drive throughs, it’s just not on!!!

What are your views????

I have watched F1 for as long as I can rememebr (thanks dad) and now am a total fan. Depsite what team I support or who I want to win the championship - this needs reversing before our sport is damaged beyond repair. Kimi was slower, Lewis was faster, Lewis overtook (don't see that to often nowadays). Lewis let him back through - Lewis was under a second behind Kimi - so advantage could only be given back would be under 1 second - then Lewis overtook Kimi.

The result = Lewis is cheated from a win.

Now lets look at the Ferrari race,

Kimi cut a corner at the start then took a place (his team mates) - no penalty.
How many times did Kimi chop accross the front of Leiws, more than is allowed in the FIA rule book - no penalty

I am a Kimi fan but I don't want anyone to win by not playing fair.

Please fix this stupid situation before everyone (even the loyal fans stop watching)

I may be in a minority here, and I am a Hamilton/Dennis/McLaren fan, however I believe the decision to penalise him was right, I just don't agree with the severity of the penalty.

The race director, Charlie Whiting, should also come in for some criticism as he was in contact with McLaren giving them the nod when he had no authority over the matter - it was a stewards decision. Perhaps he should face a punishment/fine as well?

Realistically, it cleared things up greatly for the Monza race - however I think if the appeal is allowed to go through then Hamilton should be given a less severe punishment - like being demoted to 2nd.

There was an interesting article on the BBC re this which clears up a few grey areas:

The worse thing about what happened at Spa is how well behaved everyone was on the track at Monza. What a bunch of softies. It's motor racing ffs.

And why is this "I can't say any more than that" driver attitude still going on after all these years? F1 is more like a spoilt kids sport run by a bunch of self important old men. All those kiss arses snuggling up to Mosley on the grid walk, a disgusting prime example. I don't see any reason to want to watch. They might as well make it a time tial and call it a day after qualyfying. No point in racing when overtaking has to be so bloody polite. Example, Brundle's comment - Lewis holding up of Webber - "Oh my, Lewis does like pushing his luck", in reference to the stewards, not the block. No worries, Rossi's on in half an hour.

How can it be right? he not only gave back the position to Kimi, he went around the back of him and re-overtook on the other side of the car. All he is guilty of is making a Ferrari driver look very average.!?!

Oh, and how about Kimi's double blocking move? no penalty for that was there!

edited to add;
The Belgian GP result made the overtaking and retaking of positions at Imola a complete farse. If racers can no longer race for fear of penalties heaven forbid they should actually overtake another car then F1 is well and truely DEAD

In that although he gave the place back, he did gain an advantage due to the speed/momentum he picked up when he came out of the chicane. The rules state nothing about giving a place back, just that the driver must not gain an advantage. Read the BBC article - most of it is explained, and I agree with it.

The problem has escalated far beyond which side of the fence you sit on. The bigger picture is, overtaking is banned for 2009 season.

Or even general motorsport, it's not like there are any threads in there dedicated to it.
