Rolls Opens Second India Showroom
New premises brings worldwide number up to 82
Rolls Royce has opened a new showroom in Delhi, its second premises in India. The company is keen to tap into the emerging Indian market and the showroom brings the number worldwide to 82. The new showroom, centrally located in the heart of the city, is managed by Select Cars Private Limited, a company owned by the Kapur family.
It was opened by Graeme Grieve, Director, Sales and Marketing, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. ‘This is yet another milestone since our successful return to India in 2005, after an absence of 50 years. With India’s appreciation of luxury cars, a rich history of Rolls-Royce and a burgeoning economy, the Indian market has a healthy growth potential for us,’ he said.
The dealership, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars New Delhi, began operations earlier this year, and is headed by Chief Executive Officer Yadur Kapur. He added: ‘Our investment in this new facility, customer service and aftersales has already been rewarded by orders and deliveries, even prior to the opening. The level of interest in the Rolls-Royce brand in New Delhi has been very positive.’
It would be offensive if I was poor mate. I'd rather call myself a middle class mug if you want to be pedantic. Not quite poor, not quite rich, just comfortable. However that does not stop me envying anyone who can afford to buy and run a Rolls Royce and I'm afraid in this day and age everyone is entitled to their opinion. It was just a passing comment that was not aimed at offending and I'm sure most rich people who read it, obviously excluding yourself, didn’t find it offensive but were sitting behind their computer screen thinking 'yes I'm rich, and what?'.
If you have a problem with Pistonheads and any of its members then fook off somewhere else.
Sorry if I spoilt this thread with my blaspheming oh great one. :w

I do not class myself as rich, poor, whatever. Normal, comfortable if you will. And an average bloke to boot. And certainly doubt I will be in a position to afford a new Rolls Royce. As regards your real financial status, which is not the actual point here, I was merely proving the stupidity of your "affluent = cu *t" comments. Which you have highlighted once again with your charming language.
You said, "It was just a passing comment that was not aimed at offending and I'm sure most rich people who read it,....didn’t find it offensive " Point of note: the C word is highly offensive. That is not an 'opinion', but a widely regarded fact. Go canvas 10 people in your family and ask, "if I went up to a stranger and called him a c**t, he wouldn't take offence would he?" The answers, clearly, may surprise you.
Because of my involvement with the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts' Club I know there are lots of quite average-income car mad enthusiasts out there that think the same way as me and are pleased that what you describe as Rich C---S bought the cars when new so that we can buy them a few years later when prices have dropped. Along the way, many jobs are created and money kept in the UK rather than find its new home in Germany [I can prove that too]. I have just returned from France where the club held a week-long driving rally. We stayed in a 3 star hotel, nothing too posh and drove every day to one place or another. The diverse list of models from 1920 to the present day, made for very interesting discussions at the bar each night and I never heard the owners of the latest offerings from Rolls-Royce called Rich C---S by the less wealthy! Perhaps I should also say that the French from the young to the old regularly stood at the roadside and waved as we drove past. They seemed to appreciate the cars and seemed happy that people like me owned them which are, I admit, too expensive for many people to buy.
The good news is that the Goodwood Phantom of today bought by Rich C---S becomes secondhand and cheaper in a few years so that the less than rich Rich C---S like me can buy and enjoy them. They always maintain them perfectly too.
Just my thoughts.
We have a RR/Bentley forum here too, please do wander over.
Balmoral Green,
Ordinary bloke, ordinary income, ordinary house, but really glad that some rich
spent £108,000 in 1990 for my Turbo R that I was subsequently able to buy used for Mondeo money

Well said. What's wrong with success?
These rich
s prop up this country. In the 6weeks I was moving around the country I was involved in 2 road accidents (and no I wasnt driving!) One was a bus that crashed into a car, and the other was a taxi/rickshaw that hit a car.
