I want to organise a pro-car day. This Government and so many organisations are anti car. So lets give them what they want. One day everyone leave his or her car at home. Public transport will not be able to cope, so much government revenue will be lost because of lack of petrol used. Work will be not done as no-one can get too and from work and maybe, just maybe, people will realise that the car is a good thing that should celebrated for enriching just about all aspects of society.

interesting approach if a bit of a pain in the backside. i'd hate to think how many buses and trains it'd take me to get to work!

surely doing that is anti-car? What happens if the public transport system copes, it'd be a stronger case for the goverment!

What would be a much better idea would be to arrange national car meets on the same day (every type of car) in car-parks in a static, quiet demonstration against the cost of owning/driving a car.

A show of non-violent numbers will help to sway the goverment's viewpoint!

No way can public transport cope, The country will stop, companies and the government will lose millions. It will then become apparent that we can't live without the prosperity that the motor car brings to the UK. Then pro car lobbies will far greater leverage when it come to future taxes as they can then prove what happens when the motorist fights back.

This kind of action would demonstrate that we cannot live without cars as there is no viable alternative, but it would also leave a big hole in the government coffers due to the lack of petrol tax, that is what they will take notice of.

Sounds like a great idea - when can we do it!
