Cobra Gets Roush Bite
Replica gets some serious poke
Superformance has released a ‘special edition’ performance package for its fabulous Cobra replica boasting a Roush racing spec V8 with a mighty 576bhp.
The 427 cubic inch motor is mated to a 5-speed Tremec transmission and, while no figures have been quoted by the factory, PH is confidently prepared to predict trouser-browning acceleration.
The South African built Superformance MKIII is the only Cobra replica officially licensed by Carroll Shelby. As well as its 427ci Roush motor, this MKIII-R version gets custom-trimmed Cobra seats with race harnesses, and a Monza Red paint job with silver racing stripes.
The MKIII-R was first conceived as a one-off show car last year, but enthusiastic feedback has led Superformance to offer the package as a production upgrade to all MKIIIs.
No prices have been confirmed, but if it wasn’t for the credit crunch hitting the PH bonus generator – we’d be tempted!
Oh yes sir.
I want mine without paint and racetrim inside. This Cob looks way to nice . . . Rrrrrr.
I wonder how far I'd get trying to drive it.
