It Ain't Over Till The Fat Lady Sings...

Segrave supercar club down but not out

No need to buy one just yet
No need to buy one just yet
Administrators for the Segrave Club are locked into negotiations with a secret potential backer who could put the company on a strong financial footing for the future.

According to PH sources, all the exotic car share clubs are suffering from a dearth of new subscribers as shell-shocked City players keep their heads down following the credit crunch. While established players are likely to be surviving on renewed subscriptions from long-term members, newcomers like the Segrave Club are totally reliant on meeting monthly membership targets to fund operations.

Despite this, PH has learned that Segrave Club administrators believe there is a real chance the company can be rescued by a backer with a long term interest in developing the business – more news is expected in the next few days.

Meanwhile, Segrave members have all been contacted personally by Club execs and our source says most have been extremely supportive. Indeed few members risk losing out significantly, having used up most of their 2008 ‘car days’ over the summer months

Best of luck to them. If I ever earn the money to go with one of these clubs I certainly will.

Sarcastic I presume?

I don't know why you'd feel any animosity to the clubs members or want them to lose their money?

I suspect you may find the answer lies closer to the assumption that a large proportion of membership of these clubs is made up from the very bankers and city types who helped cause the mess in the first place?

20 snouts a days = £6 * 365 days= £2200 a year
1 bigotted newspaper a day £1, £2 aday at the weekend =£500 a year.
Sky with sports ,films £500 a year.
I can go on listing other cr4p we don't really need.
But we all need fast cars,
Just by refraining from the things above will get you 6 months at E25.... nearly..
Depends on you needs.
Fast cars make you happy
Very expensive cigarettes won't!

Yes I imagine there are loads of city boys in these clubs, But anyone can join.

I can't actually believe any business like this can succeed.

IMO you'd have to have more money than sense and the richest man to join one of these clubs.

If you want to drive a hyper car, why not just spend a hundred odd quid and get one of the red letter day experiences.

Well I am neither a man nor particularly rich, but it actually works out more cost effective for me to be a member of Rio Prestige than it does to own my own hypercar.

Plus no red letter day experience is going to give the chance to spend the weekend driving a Spyker around the Scottish Highlands, which was a trip worth every penny I spent on it.

Now while I think Mrs Bluecat Chedixon sounds quite impressive, I’m afraid that my husband might object so it is with great disappointment I have to reject your kind proposal

But I will keep you in mind if the situation changes! wink
