GTstreet R Named Desire

TECHART's monster Porker

Cooler than its name suggests
Cooler than its name suggests
While some folk gaze in awe at Porsche’s 997 model 911 Turbo, others see raw potential.

The result in TECHART’s case is the GTstreet R, packing a pair of ugraded turbochargers, larger inlet pipes and revised intercooler and exhaust systems.

That’s enough to boost power from the standard car’s 473bhp to a mighty 660bhp – enough for a maximum speed of 214mph, the tuners say. It also shaves a few tenths off the 0-62mph sprint, with TECHART quoting 3.4 secs for a Tiptronic-equipped version.

The GTstreet R features eye-catching aero parts too, with a new bonnet, headlight and mirror trims, revised sill panels and carbon fibre rear spoiler. The rear gets a carbon fibre diffuser and ducting for the intercooler, with TECHART claiming the mods give perfectly balanced downforce over the front and rear axles.

Awesome! I want!

The 993 GT2 is a bit OTT with the riveted on wheel arch kit but doesn't stop it being fantastic!

Good to see something less conservative!

Tame I would say 9ff do a 927bhp kit for this gen 911 turbo. Probs cost twice as much however.

I love what they have done with the power, but that body kit so too fast and too furious for me thanks.

Big fan of some of these tuner Porks, but that is pig ugly. Not a total failure, but whoever designed the bodywork needs pencils sticking in their eyes so they can't repeat offend.

I prefer the rear to that big gaping grip it seems to have at the front!

My first car (1978) was a then-old A55 with a loose distributor & duff column change - I'm sure it didn't have a rear spoiler! Just rusty gaps around the bumper brackets which I should have called a rear diffuser if only I'd known then what I know now!

Im lucky enough to have a 997 Turbo Coupe with Techart's full Aero 1 kit and Cayenne with the full Magnum kit on it.
Both cars look out of this world amazing, and go like the clappers!!
The kits are built, fitted and painted to the highest standards, I cannot fault them anywhere!
Techat's workmanship, design and thought is far superior to other Porsche tuners out there
(no black painted chicken wire mesh in sight!), and I have been able to compare a couple of different manufacturers!
Not everyone will like this car, but isnt that the same with any car? Being it Porsche, Ford or BMW etc!!
