Hi

I'm sure you've all seen the bbc website since topgear on sunday

The latest is here

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7712962.s...

I personally was not offended by what happened, and I know that many could be but I think giving clarkson the boot for it is a bit extreme

Please sign this if you agree

http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/bbcclarkson/

If not, thanks for reading this

Done. There's some tt of an MP wants him sacked, because of offence caused to families of murdered prostitutes. Ona radio programme today he said that he had not spoken to any of these families, but Clarkson should be sacked anyway. rolleyes

+1

But if I get spam mail after signing that petition, I'll be hunting down Kenny and feeding him to GreenPeace.

Don't try the 'popularity = merit' argument. You will just make yourself look foolish.

Because I am into cars, not middle aged men dicking about. I think top gear would be better without him. I guess I just have to come to terms with the fact that it's not a car show anymore.

I'm not a big fan of Clarkson either so I don't watch, but I'd hate anyone to lose their job simply because they weren't my cup of tea.

Jeez, it's taking you a hell of a long time to figure that one out.

Why not watch a car programme then? there is 5th gear, and countless progs on the cable/satelite channels.they're all as dull as ditch water imo, but there's a market for them (though a fraction of that of TG) and i don't want their presenters sacked just because i don't watch them.

Why you want to watch a prog about middle aged men dicking about and then complain about middle aged men dicking about is beyond me. And yeah, as approx 90% of the media is already aimed at the young, i guess it must offend you that there is a 10% out there that is not relevant to you. But hey, lets forget all about democracy and demography as well.

As it's taken you so long to figure out what TG is about, are you that far from middle age yourself?

Can anyone find an email address for Mr Mole?

i'd like to ask him directly if he really believes this, or if it's as we suspect, just a way of getting his name in the news.

for someone who voted "very stronly against" an investigation into the iraq war, he appears easily wound up about a small comment!

LoL, nah, I've been saying it for ages.

I don't have cable or satellite. I do watch 5th Gear but they try a bit too hard to be like Top Gear for my liking. I still can't get enough of VBH squealing though.

I watch if for the small amount of time they talk about cars.
Don't assume that because I'm moaning about middle aged men dicking about I enjoy young people dicking about. I hate pretty much 90% of what's on tv.

p.s. has anyone seen the Aussie Top Gear. It tries way too hard to copy all the bad bits of the UK version.

Aren't past episodes of TG With messrs Goffey, Woolard and Mason available from Amazon or somewhere?

Seriously though, whats a car prog going to tell you that you don't already know? What Car on TV will be as dull as ditch water.

TG is the only reason i can justify paying the licence for, although at least next year i'll be getting advert free GP's.

I do wish MPs... especially dullard Labour ones, would keep their unwelcome noses away from this sort of thing. We have a free press which is meant to be independant of parliament... an MP should have no say what so ever on the matter.

Labour always look for any reason to get at good old JC because he is never afraid to point out what a bunch of muppets they are on prime time TV.....

Clarkson is an overpaid Prat. He and his mate Andy Wilman have made a fortune out of the BBC so you must admire them for that. If anyone should be sacked it's the people that let the show go out, just like the Brand/Ross show. I don't care for Clarkson or the other two chancers but I think they should be on the TV so people can make their own judgement. If you want to watch an ageing fat balding bloke pretending to be 18, come to the pub with me

What for? Who has complained? The BBC told me hundreds of lorry drivers have complained, but i'm a lorryist and i haven't spoken to one single driver who was remotely offended, in fact they took the totally opposite view and thought the prog funny. On a lorry driver forum, the last time i looked 85% said they weren't offended.

So who are these people? Are they like my m-i-l, who would never watch a programme but would jump on any band wagon from what the daily express told her, and yet avidly watches east enders, probably the most offensive, unpleasant and downright harmful programme to be aired ever?!

Hypocrasy doesn't even begin to describe it. The MP who started the hoo-hah admitted on radio that he hadn't spoken to the families of the prossies but "knew" they would be offended, and steve wright wasn't a trucker anyway.

This country is going stark staring mad.

Then please don't stray on to General Motorsport, where some of the most under-achieving nonentities known to man are baying for J Allen to lose his job (which he now has, but actually he was latterly ok).
