Panamera: First Official Vid
New Porsche saloon takes to the road
This three-and-a-half minute promotional video is the first official look at the Porsche Panamera in action. The new Porsche saloon is seen serenely making its way along a winding mountain road. The controversially-proportioned saloon looks planted enough, though these are hardly breakneck speeds.
Whilst the jury is still out on the cars looks, the new car certainly sounds great. At launch it will be available with the choice of a 3.6-litre V6, a 4.8-litre V8 and a V8 turbo. We'll leave it to you guys to decide which one this sounds like, but we reckon this is the rumbling baritone of a V8.
Discussion
This would be the unique opportunity to turn the 911 into a more focused car again: The Panamera for those who want a GT. The 911 for those who look for a proper sports car you can use as a daily drive.
Given the mixed sentiments and reviews about the MkII 997 (lack of sound, less involving, useless manual PDK operation) I guess the above will only happen in my dreams...

I have to join the People's Popular Front - this is fugly beyond belief.
I don't think Porsche needed a four door saloon, but if they did, why give the job of designing it to a designer that was obviously made redundant by one of the Korean car companies at the point that they decided they had been making rubbish cars and now had to make good looking, contemporary cars?
Another great way to throw £50k away in a year, anyone?

, (well 911's), but frankly this looks awful, even worse than the Cayenne, which is particularly ugly already
It looks neither one thing or another, not M5 type saloon or a 4 door sports cars. Not that Porsche are bothered what I think, but a big
from me.
