Is it me or do Mercedes actually train their dealers to be rude?!
My father wants a Brabus Smart car (don't ask why as I can't answer it) upon telephoning a dealer they are all just rude and never tell you what you want to know for instance what have you got in stock! How the hell do they stay in business!

some Mercedes dealers seem totally useless to be perfectly honest, more so when it comes down to buying a smart from them! i would say try a different local dealer or even go to one of the remaining fully stand-alone smart dealers. if you look on www.thesmart.co.uk this should be able to give you a list of local dealers, hopefully you will get more response from them! if you need any further help, please dont hesitate to contact me.

I've encounted this before. Our local Merc dealer also used to have the Peugeot franchise as well, on the same yard.
I went in several times asking about trade in 205 GTis.
I know, i'd seen several there whilst driving past.

I was lucky to get the time of day from them!

It was the "why try and sell a $5000 car when I can sell a $250,000 car" atticude.

Why not try a Brabus dealer instead ? Surely they would be a better bet......

brabus dealers arent allowed to sell the brabus smarts, unless its one of the custom one off jobbies which cost in the region of 40,000€

I would personally try another local dealer who do the smarts, perhaps they would be more interested in yours custom, maybe make a few calls? i assume you have a few brochures etc already? if not give smarts a call or go and order some brochures from their site.

Try a company called the southeast Smart Centre in Sevenoaks (01732 450890) speak to Pete, a bit of a way to travel - but I bought my smart car from there three weeks ago and was very impressed. They were helpful polite and searched for the car I wanted.

Mercedes are becoming renowned for their terrible customer service these days. I don't know why people put up with them, the cars aren't even that special.

Can't agree more recent experience of Merc service has left us wanting to sell car. Found the ihatemymerc.com page on the merc forum and vented my sleen there. Now just need Merc to read what people think of them.

Stephanie at MB/smart Newbury has always been helpful regarding smart sales. I even bought my Brabus smart from her
Her number is 01635 524 444.
No connection apart from being a happy customer...

Mike
(the Brabus franchise I visited was very polite but couldn't help)
