Leaked: Merc E-Class Coupe

Cat and bag issues over at Mercedes...

Someone needs to send a king-size tub of plastic padding over to Mercedes immediately. Recently the car maker has been experiencing more than its fair share of leaks, and the latest is this – the new E-Class Coupe.

Last month pics of the E-Class saloon appeared on the web before the official launch and now the two-door has apparently done the same. Autoblog.nl has got its mitts on the shots which show a car with similar front styling to the saloon but with a body clearly inspired by the larger CL.

The car is expected to make its debut at March’s Geneva Show.

Who knows. Maybe they are going back to how things used to be and this will be the new CE. It's so similar yet at the same time so much better looking than the saloon upon which it's based.

Like your thinking!

Not sure about the Honda legend backend. Or the front end. Or the side profile...

Looks like a photo-shop picture to me! Not a very good one at that - the wheels look like they've been "added in"

Hmmm, not sure about this.....scratchchin

It was like chuffin Sainsbury's in our dealership on Saturday.

It may not be your (or my for that matter) cup of tea, but I have deposits on two of these.....

I heard that this is actualy based (and the same size) as the current shape C-Class, so hence it will rival the BMW 3-series coupe and Audi A5. No ieda why they are calling it the E-Class coupe, was nothing wrong with CLK imo.

They're all starting to look the same now. Never been a fan of Mercedes, but I wouldn't be able to tell one from the other unless I looked at the badge on the back.

That styling works fairly well on the large CL coupé but I remain doubtful as whether it can pull it off when scaled down to this size.

I reckon it looks ok - modern and sleek but still aggressive. I like the sharper angles over the current CLK.

I saw what I believed to be a disguised new CLK exit the M1 at J14 heading for Merc HQ a couple of weeks back. It appears to be this, the lines and rear certainly looked alike, the profile was very sleek and the front quite upright.

I have to say it looks bigger in the photos than it did on the road.

I like it.

If it was a red one, then I think one of the mags(poss. Autocar) ran a picture a couple of weeks ago.Supposedly fine tuning the suspension to UK roads(more likely someone from Tongwell having a dirty weekend on expenses!).
