GM Let It Slip
Cadillac CTS and next Chrysler 300 revealed in US 'Viability Plans'
The final production version of Caddy's CTS Coupe has been unexpectedly revealed in the pages of GM's Viability Plan - a document presented to the US Treasury yesterday in support of its call for billions of dollars of taxpayer funding.
The production CTS Coupe bears a close resemblance to the concept version revealed last year, with only minor changes to the glasshouse -a solid 'blacked out' B-pillar replaces the frameless window design of the concept - and a slightly less swoopy front end that seemingly shares all its components with the CTS saloon. The effect remains suitably dramatic, with razor sharp lines accentuating the car's powerful haunches and almost flat rear deck.
The official photograph published in the GM plan is accompanied by few new details, although the document does confirm the CTS Coupe will arrive with a 3.6 litre V6 mated to a six-speed auto transmission when it hits US showrooms in 2010.
Chrysler also presented its Viability survival plan to the US Treasury yesterday, this time with a sneak preview of its next generation 300 saloon.
The Chrysler 300 and Jeep Grand Cherokee are both due to be relaunched next year, and Chrysler says the new models will improve revenue prospects on their arrival. Apparently the 300 is new 'inside and out', and will feature a 'best in class' interior with unprecedented levels of 'connectivity'. More importantly it will still be available with a HEMI V8 (with cylinder deactivation) and an all-new V6 offering greater economy.
Didnt mention this did they, see my post above.

Closest dealer is now reading, being 35miles away!!
Wil probably get shot down for this but that 300c actually looks quite nice. im sure someone will "pimp it" and make it gahstly but nevermind!
Audi must be shaking in their boots...
t, to be honest all yank car interiors are, with the exception of the new Cadillac CTS which doesn't look bad, but still not a patch on AudiAlso just had a letter from our Chrysler dealer in Canterbury saying they are shut and to use the Mercedes dealer for servicing & parts.
So the plan is to carry on as before, only a little smaller and leaner? Genius.
Let's face it, this is just a last ploy from the big wigs to help themselves to even more tax money before retreating to their gated resorts, laughing their a$$es off about the gullability of the public and their government. Bet they will have a good few millions of it stashed away for their private pension funds, too.
