Interesting news coming this way (would love PH to go investigate) that Honda Swindon have not renewed leases with Swindon Borough Council on the site in Swindon. Also news of new furnices that were built have been stripped and shipped out to Turkey
where did you hear this buddy ?.Thats 4000 jobs gone if honda bails out of swindon!.Lets hope they renew it and ride and the recession out instead of running out of here.Itll be a sad day for swindon if they go.
from honda staff. Was being told how the lease has not been renewed and how the smelting stuff was removed and sent over to turkey. Hopefully Garlick will pick this up and seek a statement
Not good news, First Luton IBC, now Swindon Honda. Elsmere Port is still not confirmed. Looks like the only healthy car factory in UK is Nissan Sunderland.
If Honda Swindon goes, it will mean a fair few small companies folding, I know a lot of suppliers will suffer as i doubt Honda will buy parts from the UK for a Turkish Factory. Or Packaging which was my previous job.
