Dutch unveil four-door supercar

200mph Bewerp Roadyacht is every bit as odd as its name suggests

Oddball name, but 661bhp is not to be sniffed at

A Dutch firm has created this, undoubtedly one of the most bizarre and idiosyncratic supercars around. It’s called the – deep breath – Bewerp Savage Rivale Roadyacht GTS and its makers claim it is the world’s only four-door supercar.

The car, which for brevity’s sake we’ll call the Roadyacht, is based on the current-generation C6 Corvette. It is powered by a supercharged version of GM’s 7.0-litre LS7 V8, a naturally aspirated version of which is found beneath the bonnet of the Corvette Z06 and the C6 R GT1 Le Mans racer.

Power is claimed as 661bhp at 6200rpm, while torque hits 538lb ft at 4800rpm. Bewerp reckons this should make the Roadyacht good for 0-60mph in 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 205mph.

The aluminium and carbonfibre Roadyacht has a folding hard-top and Lamborghini-style doors, the rear one revealing leather trim that runs most of the length of the car’s body.

Most odd, however, is the entry system - the Bewerp locks and unlocks via a bespoke wristwatch.

Prices for the Roadyacht start from around £205,000, and just 20 will be built.

I actually really like the door concept, and i actually think it looks nice. Has the strangest name, and is very 'different' but i like the design. IMO it has design elements of the Zonda about it from the side.

I'm not so sure about the leather trim around the fuel filler cap though. Possibly not the best material to use there. Or having to open the rear 'door' to fill her up..

I was going to post my usual YAWN rolleyes when I saw this but then I saw it and realised that someone has actually tried something new & different for a change. Kids are going to love the wind in your hair feeling as you hit 200mph! yikes

How bizarre-in many ways.

As interesting & different an idea it may be I wonder how many people will part with £200 grand for a 200p mph car from somebody they've never heard of. (..and only producing 20 p.a. too)interesting servicing issues too ?

They perhaps should have named it White Elephant.

Fanatstic...those wheels are incredible looking..maybe they are clouding my judgement of the overall look of the car but I like it.

It has to be the Dutch who made something like this. Will it be able to go round corners though? I think not

Do you get that dinky little one as well? So your kids can put four Action Men in and drive them around just like their parents?

And with a folding hard top over 4 seats as well, and nothing that looks like cooling / vents for the engine, it's not looking promising...

I like it though, I'm just a little sceptical.

Nice looking beastie.

Looking at the scale model, I can't see how the rear doors would open with the roof up. As the fuel filler is under the rear door, filling up in the rain will be fun.

Jeez! What is it with you two? The roof is in the glovebox and the engine is in the rear offside wheel. Obviously.......
