HELP!! 03 plate corsa, strong smell of a petrol leak!!

hi guys

hope someone can help.. my 03 plate corsa has a very strong sickly smell of leaking petrol coming from under the bonnet, very very strong but there is no leak, the car is a 1 litre engine and i filled up £20 and have done 30 miles and it used over a quater of a tank!! this points me again to a leak but really unsure.. does anyone know or have had the same issues? if so how much was it to fix?

Sounds silly but i need my car to get to work do i drive it or is it too dangerous?

If the smell is very strong, I really wouldn't drive it. Where abouts are you?

Whilst I would suggest this issue is important, it is hardly newsworthy!

It must be leaking from somewhere, but its evaporating so you wont see a puddle. Get it fixed asap, it is a horrific fire hazard

Sorry not my neck of the woods, don't know of any garages local to you. But as stated do not drive it, it's just too dangerous, Have you got any breakdown cover linked to your insurance?

Other than that put a post in the North West regional forum and see who recommends either a local garage or decent mobile spanner dangler.

Im with the AA i was planning on driving to work and then calling them so i can work whilst i wait for them to come out, i work 40 miles away so quite a distance!!
