Prostitute Warning Sign For Italian Motorists

Authorities in Treviso put up confusing 'attenzione prostitute' notice

A 'prostitute warning' sign has appeared in Treviso, Italy, puzzling the town's motorists.

The red-bordered triangular warning sign features the silhouette of a large-breasted woman in high heels and a mini skirt, carrying a hand-bag.

Aside from generating - presumably - plenty of wolf whistles from passing 'gents loo' and 'men at work' road sign silhouettes, the warning is also creating plenty of confusion in Treviso.

The sign reads 'attenzione prostitute', but whether it is advising local drivers to look out for prostitutes crossing the road, or that they simply operate in the area, is entirely unclear.

"I was driving in to work and saw this sign and had to slow down to get a proper look. I couldn't believe it - the woman has a mini-skirt and high heels on and very big breasts," local resident Dino Vezino told the Telegraph. "I just couldn't work out what it was for? Does it mean I have to look out for prostitutes crossing or that they are available around here?"

And yes, we are now well into April...

I imagine its to warn you to watch out for them. I remember leaving Bologne going North to Milan on the motorway, it was going home time, about 4 or 5 o'clock. As we left the city there is a services on the outskirts on the motorway. Seething with prostitutes. They line the side of the road for half a mile or so, VERY scantily clad, the traffic slows right down, some are picked up in braod daylight, then its 120mph, tailgating, stty surface, no roadmarking business as usual.

Legends.

Old news.
This signal is there since 2007 and raised a lot of discussions at the time.
Daily Telegraph journalists are busy, eh?

Hmmm got me thinking what signs they could put up in Rotherham, How about a black figure squatting with text saying 'warning sh*thole' or how bout 'Charity shops' or 'Scuzzy pubs' ahead.

biglaugh I was thinking along same lines that certain towns in UK could well do with a whole new range of road signs.

Beware Twoccers ahead !
-"- Chavs etc -"-
" Slappers " (probably at city/town boundaries??)
" drunken bums " etc etc

It's so that government officials know where to find their Prime Minister hehe

Actually - I can think of a few more places in Italy where they could use this sign. One is on the stretch of the S1 around Migliarino.

I wish they had one of those in Piacenza, or at least one saying beware of the Brazialian ladyboys

getting a flash of chick with dick whilst waiting for the lights to change to green isn't the best way to start a conversation having just picked up the folks from the airport
