The Bulldog is by a 5.3L twin-turbo V8 delivering 700 bhp (522 kW - other source claims 600 bhp/477 kW) maximum power and 69 kg/mm (500 ft・lb/677 Nm) maximum torque. The first test drive of the Bulldog came in late 1979 and was a great success. The Bulldog achieved a verified top speed of 191 mph (307 km/h), but the theoretical top speed is estimated at 237 mph (381 km/h).

Not to sure i would fancy going that fast in that car !

It was never properly tested, and it was only a one-off. A sort of concept car, if you like.

There used to be a test track picture of Bulldog at speed taken at the precise moment a sizeable chunk of bodywork went skyward. Can't find it on't net.

And I'm not sure if it's still there but Gaydon had a Bill Towns concept car that had a lot of Bulldog's styling cues.

I know some will think this is sacrilege, but it looks like a De Lorien to me...

Well, I guess it was the future back then.

They also had the Lagonda which is not unlike the Bulldog.

One of the Virage mules was a two door Lagonda. It looked really nice. Apparently a couple of the panel beaters knocked it up on a Virage frame pretty much unsupervised and did a marvellous job with the proportions. So much so that when the Virage development cars were sold off a wealthy middle eastern customer bought it and put it straight back into the works to be made good.

I remember seeing this on a stand at a motorshow once. I was completely blown away. Doesn't seem quite so spectacular now, but then it was 30 years ago.

At the ime Aston claimed 375 bhp for the Vantage and a 60% increase over that for the Bullbog, so 600bhp.

Thirty years ago this car looked amazing!
