Hi, I don't know if the topic has already been discussed, couldn't find it, I was recommended to buy a used car from the auction and while trying to understand the risks I heard different opinions regarding potential risk anyone might take when considering this option. Could anyone advice whether it is definitely a bad idea or not and why? I'm interested in buying a Volkswagen golf 2008, ex-motability, and I was thinking the car will still have the manufacturer's warranty, the full service record, and most likely only one previous owner. So what might go wrong in this situation? Any hidden issues I can't think about? Is it any danger of not getting the manufacturer’s warranty certificate if the car is bought from an auction? Would it be possible to extend the warranty after the manufacturer's one is finished and also insure the car in case it’s been procured through an auction? Ultimately, any reason why cars at the auctions are around 2000 pounds cheaper than at any garage? Thanks

cars like that are usually purchased by small garages to sell on

should be a good buy - obviously only caveat is you cannot drive prior to buying
