+1 vote. Get yourself a sportscar rather than a hot hatch and you won't regret it. You'll have time for hot hatchbacks when you need 4 seats.

You could get a tidy evo 7 possibly an 8 for that money. Doubt you could get a better all round car.

If you really want a hatchback, then I would go for the Civic Type R. But then I've never been a big fan of hatchbacks, so I don't can't comment on the others in the list above.

How about a BMW 330?

Leaves you a grand change, so that you have a reserve for repairs- peace of mind.

3 months back I bought an EP3 Type R, love it - although it's not too good in the wet. Have upset a few things in it including a Boxster (he was a bit old though). I'm 21 too and insurance is £1,200 for the year also with 4 years NCB. Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions - or if you're in the north midlands area I'll take you for a spin.
I want an evo but wouldn't be able to afford fuel costs at the minute to be honest.
Tax for the type r is £230 a year currently

I had an R26 F1 Megane and thought it was the dogs danglers.....incredible levels of grip, build quality was excellent. The front LSD transforms the handling of a front drive car......try one, you won't be dissapointed.

They also come as standard with cruise control, folding mirrors, auto lights/wipers, recaro's, climate etc.
