Alan Jones (1980 F1 champ) creates supercar
Discussion
1980 F1 champion Alan Jones, resident of Gold Coast, Australia has gotten involved in designing his own supercar
i'll leave you to be the judge, but I don't see why someone would pay "$250,000 to $270,000" Aussie dollars (circa 165-175k pounds) for little more than a kit car with styling that appears to have cherry picked bits of diablo, countach, vector, db7, zonda and thrown them together hoping for a 'super car you can use everyday'
hmm

Looks like a Zonda "replica" kit gone very wrong!!
it looks absolutely nothing like a Zonda!I thought the back lights were the DB7 inspired bit, but someone else commented more amusingly and probably accurately that mid 90s Honda Integra may be closer to the mark.
Also note the quality of the journalism, which sadly for me is about par for the course on motoring matters down here. No wonder I spend my time on UK forums..
Because I was busy posting on another topic and I don't normally stray across here; sorry guy's I somehow missed this one
I questioned on the other topic whether I had morphed into Victor Meldrew, but I don't think so! I haven't quite lost my marbles yet - nonetheless, just as cantankerous- I'll continue....
I don't think that this a bad looking car at all,.......... it's quite good looking,............ it's homogenoeous in profile,.......... it's red,......... it's got a mid engine,........ it's got wide wheels,........... it's got brembo's,..... it's got a red leather interior,........... it's got carbon kevlar,......... its got a 0-60 in zzzzzzzzzzzzzz............... it's got a mid engine- sorry!........... did I mention that already?......And thats the whole point!.....where's the differentiation?
It's not about the rear lights or the brembo's, it's about... What.....WTF IS IT ABOUT?.... that marks it out as a Supercar????
A Zonda has an expression of individuality denoted by not only it's price, it's presentation of interior, it's engine-that marks it out as different. At a lesser level, albeit an equal level of expression is the TVR with a stunning visual and tactile interior and curvaceous shape as to command a (now defunct) premium kit car price.
The Ferrari has pedigree and a sonorous exhaust to die for, the Jag curvaceous, sensuality, warmth! (you can tell I'm a Jag fan can't you! lol! ) the Lambo - outrageousness in colour and form, the Pontiac Firebird - Yee Haww! The Saab quirkiness- The Renault A610 (oh well---" Ziz is not quite quite finished yet- perhaps un autre verre de-vin, pendent?...) A Mercedes - cold! - stone cold!- efficient!.... but this? - where? or where? or where? is the differentiation?...c'mon Guy's!
Great car... but it's just a pastiche of soul - sorry! mates! I'm with the rest of the PH crew - I know you (eventually) lost the ashes but you also lost this one one as well
p.s Saddo that I am - aren't those MR2 tailamps?
