Anyone with a Cerb live near Reading/Basingstoke?

Hi,

I'm in the process of selling my Tuscan and plan to buy a Cerb but am worried that I won't be able to get out of it when it's in the garage. Currently it's a bit tight but I have 50cm to open the door meaning it's no problem with the Tuscan.

Knowing that the Cerb doors are much longer and overall it's slightly wider it could be a problem. Would anybody be able to pop by when out and about and do a test for me? I live a couple of miles outside of Hartley Wintney.

Thanks Costas. Could you measure your garage and tell me how wide it is? That would help a lot.

Hopefully Demondad is popping round later this week with his Cerb but having the dimensions of your garage would be useful

Indeed! It's great. Demondad came over and I drove his Cerb into my garage to confirm I could get one in and still manage to open the door and get out.

Always a pleasure to see another potential Cerb owner live the dream. Must admit I didn't think it would fit in your garage Stuart, but after watching you park the Tusc with millimeter precision it was best left to a pro! Sorry I missed out on your run Saturday. Remember me for next time.

Tight garage top tips:-

Carpet on the wall

Reverse in with the passenger side as close to the wall as poss (let passenger out first), slide seat back, open window fully, push door gently against carpet get out - if the door doesnt
open far your should still be ok (especially with the window open) unless you are 15 stone plus.

the other option which is often used is to push the car into the garage.

Oh don't worry I have enough carpet on the walls to carpet a small family house

As Demondad says I can drive my Tuscan in with millimetres of clearance, parking it about 1 cm off the passenger mirror leaving about 50cm to open the door. The Cerb will be more of a challenge as it's more difficult to see the corner but with practice I'm sure I'll have it down to a fine art!

Carpet the walls definitely. Then hang a rolled up sock from the roof. When the windscreen touches the sock, you stop.

LOL! I have a tennis ball hanging from the ceiling. My 3 year old can't resist playing with it when the car is not in the garage!

Hi, I'm new to the site and am also a Cerbie wannabe. James Agger has been trying to help me and pointed me here as I'm not certain my garage is big enough.

L- 4600 ( should be ok).
W - 2450
Garage door width - 2070 (roughly centralised).
I'm 5'/ 10" 12.5 stone, brown hair (oops thats a different site).
I'm in Hemel Hempstead (big ask).

You'll be ok. My garage is 2.3m wide (taking account of a downpipe), door is 2.1m in width. And assuming you have about 4.4m in length it'll fit. I drove Demondad's Cerb into my garage and was able to get out of the car no problem, as has been said before just make sure you put carpet on all the walls!

It requires some careful manouvering getting it in front first but it's not to much trouble
