I'm postingt his on behalf of Mrs DC...

She took the car to work today and by the time she arrived had some serious steam coming out from under the bonnet. She said it smelt like ionised water.

Apparently it was coming from the passenger side near the windscreen which sounds to me like the coolant bottle area. All fluid levels are OK though Mrs DC will check during the day.

I think the coolant bottle may have sprung a leak - but what do you folks think...

Cheers

Mrs DC whimped out and got the AA out!

Apparently there is is small leak, they can't find it but a pressure test shows it. I told her to have them check the jubilee clip but that's OK so I guess there's a pipe perished somewhere.

Anyway its booked in for a check over - just one thing, do you reckon its safe to drive if I keep some coolant in the car in case it drops too far. I guess it's around 130 miles before it gets to the garage...

Cheers

Whilst on the subject of getting hot, has anyone fitted an overide switch for the fan.

Only asking 'cos I dont know if it will screw with the ECU as that does the normal control.

Just thought it may be a good idea to slow down the heating up process when in traffic.
