I understand the adaptive maps but was wondering when and how the ECU decides on how to draw the adaptive map.
Is it taken for the first run after resetting? Or does it take a certain amount of time or inputs before it decides the final map to store and use.
Only asking because mine are pretty much showing opposites at the moment but the throttle pots were way out which i put the strange split down to.
Should the maps be reset with everything hot then go for a drive or is it ok to reset and then just use the car as normal for a while and have another look.

You need a serial cable to go with the software but I don't think its standard. I think it has a few resistors in it.
I haven't tried this yet myself. Not sure if the standard MBE Easimap software works or whether you need the TVR version. The maps have a PIN coded in and are read only. If you search on other threads there is more detail.
Anyone with the software able to post exact details of which version they have? I have seen easimap for free download somewhere.

Not many cerbies at our meets. Everything else just not many cerbies. I have the laptop and the diagram for a standard MBE 941 cable and easimap5 I just haven't tried it as my car has our more pressing probs at the moment (intermittant lack of ignition power). I'm not sure if I need any thing else other than that as I haven't been actively looking at it.
If anyone has any info please post or email
Thanks

I think the ignition problem is a loom thing somewhere round about the fuse board. Not sure the software is really going to help on that one.
What Ignition problem? The MBE software will indicate a problem or you can see what the ignition is doing from the real time display!
Ignition problem as in driving along and then click - no ignition power at all. Everything shuts down. On startup - press button first stage comes on, press imobiliser and as soon as the other stuff comes on fuel pump and full igintion circuits mil/ignition tone then it goes crazy. There is a connection somewhere hanging on by the skin of its teeth as it flickers like crazy. Fuel pump trying to prime like you are turning it on and off 20 times a sec. Sometimes rev counter goes to 500 revs and stays there even though its not running yet. While all this is happening I can't start but will turn over. Play with loom next to fuse panel until you get solid ignition tone/mil light and it fires and runs fine until next time which can be days later unfortunately.
All in all very odd but like I say its traced to somewhere near fuse panel so far.
Thats why I don't think any amount of software is going to help on this one
Edited cause I can't spell ignition or play and some other stuff
