End of an era!

Well my cerb has been sold! It is going to a new home in Finland and will be the first cerb in the country! The guy that has bought it is originally from the UK and sounds a proper car enthusiast so I know it is going to a good home.
I will obviously be sad to see it go but I will be back in another TVR at some point! I will continue to loiter around these forums, they have been so valuable to me and I hope to be able to pass on that wisdom gained over the past 4 and half years to other new owners.
The new owner has said he will join PH and keep me updated on the cars progress.

Seems I did already have an account on Pistonheads! 
I actually decided on the name "Vatanen" after Kaarlo Vatanen from The Year of the Hare, but I suppose Ari Vatanen is quite a good driver too...
I made a post last year asking for a someone to come and give me a ride in the North East, but once I'd arrived in England, I couldn't get an answer from the guy who made the offer. Strangely, his car was yellow too.
It's hard to buy a car from abroad, and in the case of my Skyline, I made the trip to Poole, picked up the car, and left it in England for a while. Then I flew back in the summer time, took the ferry from Newcastle to Gothenburg, drove to Stockholm, stayed in a hotel, had a great day out with the wife, then took the ferry to Turku in Finland, and then drove all the way up to Oulu. Now, with the kids, I'm limited as to how far I can travel, so I tried to find the best, most complete Cerbera possible, that won't give me any hassle with the chassis etc.
I was lucky to find Mark's car, and all of the documentation that he has put on the forums, it really helped to make the decision an easy one. I was really happy to see the car has a history, it brings life to the car, but on the other hand, I'm glad I wasn't the one to do it this time! So, I get the benefit of Mark's experience and the help from the forums, and to rebuild the car to that level stands as a testament to its owner.
My GT-R isn't terribly powerful, maybe around 450hp now, but with many modifications, and I've regularly driven cars with a lot more power, but they have always been much heavier than the Cerbera, especially the Supras, but as I'm getting older, I tend to drive slowly anyway, so the rawness of the car is something I'm looking forward to and with the handling modifications, shouldn't be too hard to get used to.
I'm also looking forward to becoming an active member of these forums, and as promised, I will keep Mark updated on the happenings in Finland. The first issues will be with registering the car, so let's see how that goes. I know there have been 2 Chimaeras imported, but no Cerberas yet. Look at the indicators I had to put on to get it through the first registration:

Mark,Vatenan, fair play to both of you.Mark for all your hard work,dedication and producing such a great thread.Vat- on beating me to it! It was top of my short list.If I'd gotten rid of my c70 sooner Mark might have had an auction on his hands! Good luck to both of you,and any help in compiling my NEW :-) short list would be gratefully received.

Well, I started my Cerbera ownership in true to life TVR tradition, and I am quite proud it was delivered to my parent's house in this manner Simple problems, nothing like the GT-R:
I haven't seen the car yet, it starts its journey on Friday to Finland, but from what I can gather from the reaction of my brothers, it's an outstanding car to look at and listen to.
I must say thanks to Mark for doing such a great job on the car and for the sale, you were nothing short of a gentleman, sir! I hope to do the car proud and I will start the process when I finally get to see it in a couple of weeks.

Well at least you brother did not have to do that 280 mile drive! 
Seriously though as a warning to others check fuel pipes and how close they are to the aircon belt. In this instance the fuel cooler bounced out of it's clips causing the fuel pipe to move and rub on the belt causing a fuel leak.
