Pedals/gears/slave cylinder

Pedals:
I'm about to buy a Cerbera and my wife is a little vertically challenged and am looking to extend the pedals to help her. I have heard that you can extend them (the pedals that is), but has anyone got any info on what/how to go about it.
Gears/slave cylinder:
There is a difficulty in engaging the gears when cold and I've heard it could be that the slave cylinder is near its end of life - has anyone else had this experience and do you have any tips, or an idea of the cost of a new one?

slave/gear selection - is the clutch ok. If you need to change the slave, it might be an idea to change the clutch while you are in there...assuming its still the original one. £25000 miles is common 4 a clutch change. Should cost £1000 to £1200, depending on whether you need the upgraded flywheel.

If you are having trouble getting gears when cold but it is ok when hot then I would get the system bled.
If that fails then get the master checked out, to replace this should be reasonably cheap (£100ish). If you then have still have a problem then you might be in trouble.
I think that most 4.5 cars do not have the slave as part of the bellhousing (ie inside) so ou might find that is is not overly tricky to replace. If you have an early car then prepare for the worst!

Sore point this. Recently my clutch went, the seals on the cylinder gave up and dumped the hydrolic fluid on the road. (Hadn't noticed anything awkward about the gear change though!) Apparantly it was a gearbox out job to change the seals and cost just under £500.00 from a TVR specialist. Hope your problem is something else, cheaper.
