Steering wheel buttons

Somebody makes ali rings to fit the buttons including the windows,any ideas please?

Much appreciated, might treat mesen to some new switches too, so it all looks new. Any pics of the rings in place, I assume they are dead easy to fit?

I see the company make replacement switches too. Mine are looking old and grubby so would be nice to replace them along with the ali rings. Do they just plug in or is it more complicated than that? I don't want to go buggering around with car electrics, it's a blind spot of mine (one of many!).

The steering wheel switches are soldered connections. RS Components also sell the switches if Magni run out - details are in the equivalent parts thread.

Well, I can solder alright, provided its easy enough to get to the pins. Any idea how difficult this would be?

Fiddly rather than difficult from what I recall.

Remove the steering wheel, unplugging the connectors at the hub. (no need to go as far as touching the ribbon cable.
Remove the back plates from the steering wheel and you should see the small nuts that hold the switch pods in place. Remove these and the pods come off. Push the switches out from behind to get to the connectors.

If it is only wear and tear on the switch labels, replacement stickers are available that are probably a good deal easier and quicker to fit. I think Clever Trevor or Racing Green stocked them a while ago.
