Finally saw the Cerb again today after getting the colour change done - Aston Mako Blue.
I'm so pleased with it, both the choice of colour and the quality of work, which is outstanding. The paint has an, as yet un-named, effect in it. The effect (other than being expensive!) is that it changes the intensity of the blue from an almost colourless silvery colour to a mid blue though without the "bling" effect of spectraflair. Anything like this will always come down to personal choice, but I absolutely love it

Thanks folks, the paint was done by a chap called Ted Lynch based between Hereford and Worcester at Fromes Hill. He's a sole trader with a history around TVRs having helped develop their use of spectraflair paints at the factory and has a wealth of experience working with fibreglass.
To be totally honest, in the best traditions of good one-man bands, he's a proper eccentric. He often works nights so that people won't bother him, doesn't have a great record of answering the phone and is desperately self-critical of his work.
Having said that, the quality of his work is fantastic, he is always reasonably priced and he is prepared to do the job you want. Last winter he did a very tricky bare metal job on my father's 1932 Wolseley Hornet Special - basically an extremely flexible aluminium and matchsticks affair (!) and will be repainting the 308 over the winter.
Proper thumbs up from me, the guy is a true professional.

On my car the body colour extended only as far as the heat reflective material on the inner wings. Any fibreglass below this was black. I stripped the car down extensively to ensure that there are no traces of the original paint at all - including inside the doors, etc. It really is as though it came out of the factory in that colour.Gassing Station | Cerbera | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
