Driver's window not autodropping.

Hello all.

Just a quick one; as the thread title would suggest, the driver's window is refusing to autodrop. Its catching slightly on the carbon A-pillar trim which is bugging me. As a newbie to Cerbera ownership, I'm not sure where to look.

The passenger window drops fine, and also raises and lowers much faster than the driver's. Any easy places to look first and foremost?

Does it work on the up / down buttons or has it failed completely?

It still goes up and down, but certainly not in any rush.

The window drop problem is usually either the microswitch behind the glass, under the door card or more probably corroded connectors on the plugs into the wiring harness inside the door.

Replacing all the door harness connectors with proper waterproof ones permanently cured all my door/window opening woes.

Auto drop not working maybe missing magnet or sensor too far away to pick it up.

Should I try a magnet by the sensor at the bottom of the door and see if the window drops... would that narrow down the possibilities?

If the interior light goes off when the door is closed then the reed switch is working. If you activate it with a magnet (or by closing the door) the window should come back up - not drop. The button under the mirror should drop the window, then the reed switch circuit sends the signal to raise it again once the door has been opened and closed.

Its almost always corroded connectors in the door that are the problem. TVR did not use waterproof ones so they corrode quite badly.

Understood, thanks Tanguero. Time to take the door card off and have a poke about I think.

When I got my car, the window never auto dropped, it turned out to be a broken earth wire between the door and body
