Help please regarding suspension removal
Discussion
I had to cut one off mine out in the Chimaera i used a air saw to do it, if you cant get hold of one use a hack saw blade. And copper slip the new bolts.
When you cut it, it will chap out with no problem.
But i would try lots of wd-40 first then get a bigger hammer.

Hi there, i have just fitted some coilovers and i thought it was going to be piss. Ended up taking ages due to these bolts! I found winding and winding it for ages and ages got them out with a constant pressure. Crap design regarding the hole size, should be a clearance of .2mm for a through hole(not screwing through, thats what the nyloc is for!!

a galvi bolt or stainless be okey
Not stainless !!If I remember correctly, stainless has a lower tensile strength - best avoid for loaded suspension bolts.
I seem to recall that galvanizing can cause hydrogen embrittlement - someone else will no doubt confirm or refute that however.
I'd stick to zinc plated.
Wotcha !
Had a go at replacing mine here and found that the inner bush of the mount had corroded to the bolt and separated from the rubber insulation.
In the end had to lever a small gap between the shocker lug and the wishbone end plate and use and angle-cutter to go through the bolt. Had to keep turning the bolt as the blade wouldn't go through the diameter. Had to do both ends (sides) of the bolt and the jammed, corroded section remained in the shocker lug.

As said Don't use stainless as in most part they don't have a high tensile strength just use High tensile bolts and fit they using copper slip and they will come out fine the next time you need them out.I think the suspension bolts have a tensile of 12.9 most stainless bolt in the same size will be around 7
Sorry Kirk,
didn't get back on this thread until now.
I realise that you're porb sorted but when I did it, I used Steve Heath's website as he sells Nut and Bolt Kits for units like the suspension.
Not cheap but exactly the right stuff.
Sorry, once again.

i also used the steve heath bolt kit to do all the suspension on mine, although some of the bolts supplied where to long and the washer not thick enough, i have spoken to him about this and said he is doing something about this. guess best way to find these things out is from customers feedback.
