I've just gone to go out in the Cerb, started it up, engaged reverse, handbrake up a bit to push in button, button is now stuck in and handbrake wont release.

Unfortunately, my handbrake is a good one, and the car wont budge and inch.

It's on the last notch and I can't physically lift it any more to get the button to pop back out or the handbrake lever to release.

Help, I have to go out tonight - how do I get it to release.

HELP!

Take off all the cowling, get a hammer. At the bottom of the hand-brake arm you'll see the catch mechanism. Give this a tap at the top nearest the arm with the hammer and the button should pop out. Good luck.

Cheers arcbeer.

I missed your post, but managed to get it away by levering the catch with a screwdriver, so didn't miss my appointment.

I'll try the hammering tomorrow morning.

Lifetime supply of beer, and unlimited use of the silverstone track..... Sorry Kojak, I think I've pulled!

Actually considering, I think he's happier up there, if he was down here, he'd probably have dissapearing customer's cars.... and anyway, I enjoy the drive up and down...

As this has been resurrected, the handbrake lever is now fully operational. The hammering was not a success, but found that the button can be unscrewed a little bit and it gave a bit extra leverage to the catch.

I found 20p under the leather aswell - Result!
