Now I realise how quick the Cerbera actually is

On Friday evening I took a Holden Ute for a test drive (as an addition to the fleet, not a Cerb replacement).

The plan was to drive there in the Cerb but it decided to strop and sprung a fuel leak so it had to be left at home (but that's a story for another day).

I have to say I was expecting the much newer Ute with it's 5.7 ltr V8 (basically a Chevy LS1 isn't it? ) and 6-speed manual box to be an absolute animal.

It wasn't.

Now don't get me wrong the Ute is quick ..... very bloody quick ..... but it's no Cerbera.

The absolute raw power of the Cerb is in a whole different league.

Will I buy the Ute?

Possibly (if the seller accepts my offer then the deal is done).

Will it ever be a match for the Cerbera?

No !!!!!


Actually the logic for me is that over here it costs close to €1600 per year for road tax on any car over 3 litre whereas a Ute is classed as a commercial vehicle which I can tax for well under €300.

Those are the joys of living in a country where the previous government completely fu(ked up the state finances and now try to screw all of us to help bail them out.

What just like the UK as well.

My mate has a LS1 in his supra much the same BHP as my Cerb and it is as fast as the cerb if i am not in the right gear with its flat torque line.

I have an LS3 in my Cerb, and its quite quick.

For me the cerb just does not feel fast,but when you look at that speedo thingythink it has to be the long bonnet.I had a little german sports car up my chuff on sunday morning for about two secounds looked in mirror;)and it was a dot,yeah our cerbs are bloody fast.
