I've got to change a dead headlamp bulb this weekend and was thinking that I would put in brighter bulb if I could get one. Is this likely to lead to wiring problems? Is there any preference toward to xeon bulbs?

I think Intel might object to you using Xeons in your headlights. On the other hand, 100/80w bulbs allegedly work fine in a Chim, so I guess (i.e. don't sue me!) they'll probably be OK in a Cerbie. Perhaps. Lets just say... no crispy wiring in the chim with hotter bulbs, lots of crispy wiring in my BMW with standard bulbs. /shrug/

Marshy don't you ever sleep Any way you can fit High Intesity Gas discharge light's to a standard Cerbera.

You can fit high power lamps to your car without any modification. You can fit 100/85 bulbe (available from Halfords or any other place). The wiring and fuse etc. are quite up to taking the increased current. If you want to fit proper Xenon lights (not some "Xenon effect" blue bulbs), you'll need some control circuitry as well as the lights. If you've got a new (twin small horrible looking headlights) model, your dealer can do the upgrade for you (costs something like £1500 I believe). If you've got the original (and best) look, you should still be able to get it doen, but I don't know offhand who could do it. Probably best to buy a magazine like Max Power or RedLine. They'll have companies advertising that sort of thing. James

I have not changed my bulbs but even with standard bulbs I found the connector on the dim dip module above the petrol tank had burnt out. I discovered this in my Cerbera 4.5 when the headlamps failed when I was driving at 70mph on an unlit road. I was none to impressed by the relatively small core in the cables, which go all the way from the back of the car to the front of the car. Why o why have TVR put the battery in the fron and all the fuses, elctronics in the back when you need two cables not one due to the lack of a metal body. No wonder the lights are awful. I replaced the connector which I am certain is not up to the job, so anyone changing to higher power bulbs might like to check that connector for a few weeks. Incidentally I replaced the connector with a different type which can take 17A per terminal but I would not trust the remaining cable at anything like this current.
