Am about to start speccing up my total interior retrim - leather, headlining, carpets, the lot. I have good idea of what I want, but am interested in getting ideas from others of what works /what not.

Particularly black with grey or ivory combinations and more er, bold choices. I'm toying with lilac carpets but the wife reckons that will be "a bit gay" to quote her, though I feel it could really lift the interior. The exterior is a dark metallic red colour though it will be resprayed reflex charcoal eventually.

So what you got? Pics please!

Not same exterior colour but mines Portland with Lilac carpets and I don't think it's at all "gay"

No,it's actually black with cream,sorry, haven't taken enough photo's of the cerb,will change that over summer.

Thanks for the offer, thats good of you. Sadly I am going to struggle to find the time before Christmas due to work and family commitments which may be a little late! I remember sitting in a Cerb many years ago at the local dealers which had i think it was ivory leather and lilac carpets (are they called heather?) and it was sublime. I hate dark cockpits and also want a little drama in the interior, black and ivory or grey with lilac carpets is tempting and your interior suggests it would work well (imagine black dash top and a few other bits of trim). Shame my car is red but it will be fantastic with the respray. Hmmmm

Any time mate, always happy to give the car a run out - offer stands for as long as necessary. They did do heather carpets too, but in my manual they are listed as lilac.
A dark dash top would give drama to a light leather/lilac carpet - trying to visualise that.

Whatever you do - go for a darker colour on the dashboard / instrument binnacle cover to reduce windscreen reflections.

Got the dark dashtop/binnacle thing for sure. Like the steering wheel in the paler colour and contrasting seat pads/bolsters.

Thanks to ehover edited the typo in the heading btw - couldn't work out how to correct it after posting.
