My alarm has started a Chirp when i unlock it been doing it for a few months now never really bothered me until now as i have been using the car more and more and every one turns round and looks at you in car parks and so on. Any Idea's as to why it has started to do this? Everything else works fine alarm wise just this sound when it unlocks.

I also always power my car down as i work offshore so it has the battery disconnected for weeks at a time but it seemed fine before when i was doing this.

Cheers Scotty

There can only be one answer to this. Uncle Carl.

Got to be worth a call, it probably means something, like a sensor failure, or something not shut properly.

Battery in the siren is failing. Time to get it swapped out for a new one.

I've got the books here for both the original Meta alarm & the new Meta alarm that's been fitted.

I might be wrong here......

But if the installer has turned the beep function on, you'll get 2 beeps on arming, and 1 beep on disarming.

If the installer has turned the beep function off (Like TVR did), you get no sound on arm or disarm. However, if the alarm's been going off, you get a beep on disarm. Then count the amount of LED flashes in the back window to see which device set it off.

From my experience, when the old alarm's self contained battery started to fail, it just sat there chirping away constantly, armed or disarmed
