De-cat question

Hi,
I just wondered if someone could put my mind at rest. Are unlinked de-cat pipes the same for both the 4.2 and the 4.5? My brother bought me them for my birthday off of Ebay and they were listed as 4.2/4.5 fitment but i just need it confirmed. mine is a 99 4.5. Fingers crossed!!

No, they're different lengths. 4.2s are 17.5" and 4.5s are 16.5" I believe.

I've a 97 4.2 , I borrowed a set of cats from a 2001 4.5 and they were the same length as my de cats, 17 1/2 inchs, so I guess it just depends.

Oh dear! I did have a quick measure up earlier and it seemed that the de-cats were longer than my cats. Gutted, i was itching the fit them! if it is that 4.2s are always longer the 4.5s i could say this listing was incorrect and get my money back. I wonder if its worth getting a price to have them cut and joined to the correct legth?
