Someone sell me a second hand sports exhaust?

I don't really want to spend silly money on an exhaust so soon to the car's service (which I've saved up for), but I am craving a little more noise now. The standard backbox with decats is just a touch too quiet. Has anyone got a spare for a 4.2 they're looking to sell? Preferably from the Yorkshire area. Worth a punt!

Standard back Box with De-cats too quiet?? You've got a Cerbera not a Nova, you don't need to preve anything!!

After a while a noisy exhaust will do your head in, and people aren't really impressed by it you know - But each to his own.

Its not a case of proving anything to anyone, more that I've quickly gotten used to the volume of the exhausts, which really arent that intrusive. Sure, its louder than my old GTV for example, but its not as antisocial as I expected a TVR to be. And above all else, I fancy making the overrun crackles that touch meatier.

My sports exhaust is sitting on the floor of race proved, feel free to make an offer for it. I'm getting one made to gain a few horses. I also have a spare 4.2 standard box...!

Oh and I have spare cone filters, they REALLY increase the rasp under acceleration.

I have a pair of ACT twin pipes which are FOC to anyone who wants to collect them (Woking area). One has a slightly bent tip which should be fixable but otherwise in serviceable condition. They're the type with a cylindrical silencer in each pipe and are a direct replacement for the back box. Were on a 4.5, don't know if they would fit a 4.2(?)

I have these on my 4.2! Which of yours has the bent tip? I damaged the drivers side inline can in my rush to rebuild the car for Le Mans If Robsco doesn't want them and it allows me to sort mine I'll happily trundle down and collect them.

Gazza, you'll have mail by tonight. Simon, yes I've weakened! I'm sure I'll sort something but with the bits and pieces I want sorting at the next service, I'm not expecting much change from a couple of grand. So the cheaper the better.

I'll have a look tonight and take a pic if I can. I think they're a bit grazed on the underside from speed bumps too . If I get some pics up you can decide whether it's worth the journey.

Btw I also have an OEM centre section which I'll flog for £0.00 ono

Edit: it's the driver's side that had a slightly bent tip but I bent it back and it looks ok. The drivers side is also a bit more scratched up underneath but you can't see it of course.

Gazzab, interested to know how your custom made set will differ from the sports exhaust you had. I have just bought a custom made set which i have'nt fitted yet. I was told by the seller that they are incredibly loud, cant wait to fit them.

The custom one is designed for power and is 2.5 inch pipes with 3 inch tails.

Although i am sure it would small, but what bhp increase could you expect after a decat plus sports pipes?
