Can I have an opinion on this car

This is a great looking car, I notice that the compny is a Tvr repair garage but it is very cheap . Can anyone here recomend them as I am quite a way from them & would rather no waste time etc. Lovely looking car apart from the wheels but they will change them.

I know nothing of the car or the dealer.

I wouldn't buy it because;

It is from a salvage specialist with no mention of any damage

The Ad shows no pics of the under bonnet area

The Ad says "offer me no less than the asking price" with an attitude like that I'd not even pick up the phone!

The price, it should be around 2 grand less in my book, wrong wheels means other atrocities were probably committed in it's lifetime, plus it's history of being crashed (which if it hasn't I'll eat my own testicles!)
and not declared!


Wait and see what others say but I wouldn't imagine that it would be very positive!

I've heard bad reports about TVR Dean. They repair accident damage write offs, so be very careful.

Could do with a little research on the car first but you never know it could be a bargain. The one thing that would put me off would be the light convertion but that's just me.

First question to ask is whether it has been written off in the past and if so for what. Then ask to see pics of the repairs. This place do seem to want the highest prices and are usually a little too high. Could still be a good car but you want to know exactly what you're buying and what contingency fund needs to be set aside

The ad doesn't sound right,and an accident damage dealer would worry me, how ever I would like to see a man eat his own testicles ,so I reserve judgement!

it is cheap for a 4.5 but..... why has it had a Chimp bonnet fitted? other tweaks may suggest an overheating issue at some point - has also had front end work (may be a styling choice for the Tuscan style headlamps)

a quick look on PH shows you nicer pedigree ones for not much more (and thats not including changing the awful wheels)



oh and TVR dean advertise on PH a lot - why isn't this on here?

Have just learnt new things from the ad:
A rust free chassis is possible.
A chimaera based bonnet was used on later models
You can sort paint for nothing.
Air con was standard.

But looking beyond inaccuracies and so forth it could be a good car with good history only needing wheels and paint to make it ok.

Chim bonnet? Just happened to have one laying around to replace a damaged Cerb one????? Check for respray
Tuscan lights? To give a reason for front end rebuild?


This one is a tough call, it could be good, or a dog! Probably worth a look, but ONLY with an impartial and knowledgeable person!

I went to look at a Lotus Elise they had in, the place was enough to put me off the car.

The last yellow cerb sold by a breakers was to a soldier who found it needed apprx 20k to make it roadworthy eg chassis was actually dissolved ! I presume this isn't the same car!
