SP6 rear exhaust box rattle.

There seems to be rattle / vibration coming from the inside of my rear exhaust box. Are there baffles inside the box? Is it possible they have come loose, can it be fixed at a tyre exhaust centre or should I just buy a replacement as there is one in the classifieds currently.

Yes its the baffles, mine's doing the same.

Sometimes a few random thumps with a hammer will tighten up the baffles. Makes s bit if a mess of the box, but if you were going to bin it anyway...

Thanks guys, I turned down the chance of a TYR Power sports rear box a month ago at a good price! Typical, although it might have been a bit too loud as I am de- catted , maybe the pops and bangs have loosed the baffles in the rear box?.

I'm not sure the artillery fire is enough to loosen baffles, but I maybe wrong. My baffles did work loose about a week after decatting...

Mine has been rattling now for about six months, maybe more, and it's not getting any worse or causing any other problems.

I reckon I'm just going to leave it until it falls apart and I have to change it.

I had my back box cut open (ooer), the silencer had come loose so we tacked it back into place and repacked the box.

Nice cheap fix, no more rattles much quieter as a lot of the wadding was burnt out after all of the years of flames!

Update, I bought the back box if the classifieds , cleaned it up then painted it black with high temp paint and polished up the 2 chrome pipes. Fitted at quick fit for a £10 and it pops and bangs ever more than before, I think I will get the old one opened up and repaired and keep as a spare.
