Every once in a while and usually after a run, my Cerbie simply refuses to fire up unless i give it a subtle amount of gas on the throttle, after which it starts up fine and no problems after. The starter motor is turning OK and there are no problems with the battery. And as for everything else , the car is running like a dream.

Could this be the fuel pump, or something else?

Don't you normally have to give it some throttle to start or does yours fire up without any at all?

Mine always needed some throttle to coax it into life.

mine needs none, sometimes if it is very cold and it wants a service then I need to get on the throttle and give it a blip just after it starts but otherwise just leave it.

Normally mine does'nt need any, just a press of the red button.

Sounds like its quite normal to have to give it some throttle then, so nothing to worry about.

Hmm. Never tried without a little throttle!
I'll try it later

Yep - my dealer told me that when I picked up my new Cerbie, and that always worked fine.

Sounds like fuel vapourisation & if it is then nothing to worry about.
