Wiper/Radio/Mirror fuse keeps blowing

Bit of a help please, before I reach for the matches

I've a fuse that covers the wipers, wash wipe, mirrors & radio. I'm guessing the radio has two feeds. One permanent, to keep the time, stations etc & a switched input that comes on with the ignition.

Any hoo, on a wet day, or in this mornings case, lots of dew. The fuse pops as soon as I turn the ignition on.

I gather the place that normally fixes it have checked that the wiper park switch is dry & they've even swapped the wiper motor. I'm not convinced it's necessarily the wipers, as they wasn't on at all yesterday & I hadn't touched them this morning.

I'm convinced that water's getting in somewhere, but haven't got a clue where to look. If I stick a new fuse in now, it will pop. But once the car is dry later, it'll be fine.

I'm wondering if the wires for the mirror are sitting in the bottom of the door submerged in water.

Any clues please, or alternatively an auto electrician that knows their way round a Cerb ?

The mirror harness does hang inside the door and the connectors to it are definitely not waterproof. It could be worth taking the door cards off and disconnecting the mirror harness and seeing of the fuse still blows.

The mirror control box located in the passenger door was getting wet. Now mounted higher, with a TVR endorsed harness & weatherproof enclosure (Cable tie & a Sainsbury's bag)

On my car the radio is wired into the same circuit as the cigar lighter socket and the boot lock!
I had to replace cigar lighter as it was constantly blowing fuses and I never use it for it's intended purpose, just as a power socket.

I think the 'switched' supply to the radio, is the same on mine. The owner's handbook says that the radio fuse shares with the passenger door lock & the boot.

Just tried removing that fuse & the headlights came on, and the car squirted me with water...Must be a self defence mechanism That's exactly what it did when I accidentally plugged the van's fag lighter in to the Cerb a few months back.

Don't most radios have a permanent supply as well though ? To keep the time/stations in the memory ? In my case it has, it's with the wipers & mirrors

I had this with my old car, same problem. Is it fuse 7?
